Helas, helas mon Dieu, ton ire s’est tournee
Vers moi ton serf, qui me poursuit sans cesse.
La peur que j’ai fait que l’a me estonnee,
Donne à mon coeur une extreme destresse.
Et vertu me delaisse,
Toujours estant douleur devant mes yeux.
Je te reclame et appelle en tous lieux,
Pour mettre fin à l’ennui qui me point.
Si tu ne veux, helas, m’envoier mieux,
Au moins, mon Dieu, ne m’abandonne point.

TRADUCTION :
Alas, alas, my God, Thy wrath is turned
On me Thy slave, and hounds me without rest.
The fear I feel makes my affrighted soul
To put my heart in extreme distress,
My senses fail me, and strength goes from me.
Always my pain is before my eyes.
I implore and call on Thee in every place
To bring to an end the trouble that afflicts me.
If Thou wilt not, alas, send me better hap,
At least, my God, leave me not abandoned.
