Biography

Twenty chansons, mostly in the homorhythmic style of Sandrin and Arcadelt, are ascribed to this composer variously indicated as Ebran, Hebran, and Abran, in publications of Attaingnant, Du Chemin, and Le Roy et Ballard between 1543 and 1559. Nothing else is known of him. Since an arrangement of a song later appeared with the ascription "Abrahan", one might suggest to identify him with an active musician whose first name was Abraham.
