[C]-C1; [A]-C3; [T]-C4; [B]-F4. Chant (App. 3), cast as semibreves, permeates the imitative texture concurrent with each of the four textual lines as well as specific words (“regina celi,” mm. 1-9; “quia…,” mm. 31-40; “portare,” mm. 44-52; “resurrexit…,” mm. 65-72; “sicut dixit,” mm. 72-5; and “ora…,” mm. 81-8). A four-note descending motive derived from plainsong that introduces the “alleluia” sections following the first three lines is treated comparably (mm. 17-21, 52-8 and mm. 74-81); a similar “alleluia” section follows the fourth textual line though the motivic material does not relate to the corresponding chant. The antiphon concludes with an “alleluia” segment (mm. 109-132) with motives derived from final plainsong “alleluia.”[1] The structure of the antiphon is clearly delineated coupled with transparency and awareness of spatial concerns. Scribe conveys minimal concern for text underlay. Final F, b♭ signature.

1. Style characteristics, structural features and specific use of plainsong suggest a remarkable relationship with RC306.
