Partitions

[1] Regina caeli laetare

Polyphonic ensemble SSAATB

C I-G2; C II-C1; A I-C2; A II-C2; T-C3; B-F3. High clefs. Entire range, A-f’’. Chant (App. 3), primarily stated in breves and semibreves, is presented in canon between C II and A II at the lower fourth and the distance of three breves in a segmented format; “meruisti” and “portare” are separated by three breves as are “resurrexit dixit” and “sicut dixit.” Within an imitative, contrapuntal fabric, anticipations of the canon occur in C I, A I, T and B for the first textual phrase “regina caeli;” subsequent phrases exhibit fewer instances of chant influence. A variety of voice groupings emphasize the spatial parameters of this setting; only a quarter of the work is full voiced. Final F, b♭ signature.

[2] Resurrexit

Polyphonic ensemble SSAATB
