Description

Of the 35 motets in VatS 20, eleven are ascribed to Festa; the remainder are anonymous. Through concordant sources seven of the anonymous compositions can be assigned to Festa. According to Alexander M. Main. “it seems safe to regard every piece in the Ms. as attributed to Festa, at least by implication.” “Costanzo Festa: the Masses and Motets,” Ph.D. diss., (New York University, 1960), pp. 39-42.
