Description

DIAMM synthesis.
Composite paper manuscript of several originally separate fascicles later bound together. Original choirbook-layout pieces were separated by pages of blank staves, which were later used to add pieces in lute tablature (on ff. 3, 13'-14', 50, 60'-61, 62, 86'-87, 108'-112, 128'-129, 142'-162'). Music in mensural notation copied by a single scribe; lute intabulations are later additions by a different scribe, who also wrote most of lute tablature additions in UppsU 76c (Thomas G. MacCracken). Of French origin (BernNO); possibly copied in Troyes or vicinity. Early (original?) owner was Thomas Gillesson, a priest of Troyes diocese (inscription on f. 2).
