Biographie

This singer is paid by the convent of the Santissima Annunziata of Florence from 1.4.1486 until 1487. These account books designate him as a singer of the Baptistery San Giovanni of Florence. He also served in the chapel choir of the Cathedral of Florence for the single months of January 1487 and July 1488 (D'Accone 1961, p. 340-341 ; Zanovello 2014, table 1, p. 391, in the lists of singers paid by the Santissima Annunziata during the years 1486 and 1487).
The designation "Giovanni d'Agnolo da Fiandra" is puzzling since it would mean that his father's given name was Agnolo, but one does not know of any such given name used in Flanders.
Nothing else has been yet uncovered about this flemish singer active in Florence.
