Biographie

Collegiate church of Saint-Amé in Douai, 1434-1435
"M. Pasquier Coutel" is listed in the last 3 lists of the vicars of Saint-Amé in Douai in the yearly account for 1434-1435 and in the first list for 1435-1436 (after Bouckaert PCR: "Vicarissen in de collegiale van St Amé. Bron: rekeningen van de vicarissen"; refering F-AD 59, 1G2209 and 1G2210). These accounts run from the feast of St-John the baptist, so he was paid amongst the vicars aproximately for one year, from October 1434 to September 1435. The capitular acts of the church provide little more information on his activity (Fiala PCR after F-AD 59, 1G16, f. 35 et sq.).

Burgundian court chapel, 1452
His name appears only once as the last named of the clerics of the Burgundian chapel in a list of 1452 (Marix 1939, p. 251, as "Pasquier Crutel", obvious misreading for "Coutel").

Cathedral of Cambrai, 1447-1490
Small vicar from 24.6.1447 to 4.10.1451 and 11.2.1452 to 28.2.1455 [F-AD 59, 4G 7447, 6r; 4G 7450, 6r; 4G 7453, 7r]. He became a grand vicar on 25 February 1455 on the death of Philippe Brunet [F-CA, ms. 1059, f. 121v]. The acts note only his second reception as a small vicar and date it 14.2.1452 even though the wine account show him present on 11 February [F-CA, ms. 1059, f. 11v]. He held a number of chaplaincies in the cathedral but was not a member of the grand community [F-CA, ms. 1059, f. 23v, 122 ; ms. 1061, f. 177v] and a number of benefices outside Cambrai. On 12.7.1465 he was one of those charged with proofreading the new ordinal of the cathedral [F-CA, ms. 1059, f. 218v]. He died on 17.6.1490, although he had written his will as early a 6.6.1479, and his grand vicariate was granted to Nicolas Berquier [F-CA, ms. 1061, f. 366v]" (Planchart PCR / 2018, p. 761-762).
