Biographie

Chapel of Cardinal Hugues Roger, 1362-1363
He is first mentionned in November 1462 as a singer from Tournai in the chapel of cardinal Hugues Roger in Avignon (Fierens 1914, p. 32-33, Rotulus domini cardinalis tutellensis, 20-22.11.1362, at p. 33, n° 79 : "Symoni le Coryer, Tornacensi, cantori capelle ipsius cardinalis"). This supplication to the pope Urban V requested that Le Corier be given a canonicate with expectation of a prebend at St. Géry in Cambrai, despite he already held the parish church of St. Crucis in the same city. That was granted since, on 28.10.1363, he made a second supplication for St. Walburge of Furnes, despite already being a canon of St. Géry at Cambrai but having relinquished the parish church of St. Crucis (Fierens 1914, p. 397-398, Rotulus familiarum domini cardinalis tutellensis, 28.10.1363, at p. 398, n° 1123 : "Symoni Le Corrier, cantori capelle dicti cardinalis"). Around the same time, he also petitioned for canonicates in Tournai and Noyon’s cathedrals (Wright 1979, p. 57).

Chapel of Burgundy, 1384-1391
He was engaged as a chaplain at Philip the Bold’s court on 25.4.1384, where he remained until 1391. In 1389, he was listed as canon and prebendary of Laon's cathedral and as a prebendary of the church of St. Omer and the abbey of St. Bertin. He was received as a canon of St Piat in Seclin after he left the chapel by 1391, and still was described as such at the time of his death on 22.4.1393, when his canonicate went to Jean Haucourt* (Wright 1979, p. 68, after Nélis 1934, p. 651 and 763).
