Que fera donc un esprit detenu
Dedans ce corps rebelle et corruptible?
Seroit-il point aucunement possible
Qu’il fut de Dieu par grace maintenu?
Certes oui, son Christ estant venu
Nous racheter pour à soi nous attraire
Par vive foi, malgré nostre adversaire
L’esprit vivra par Christ seul maintenu.

What shall a spirit do, imprisoned
Within this body, rebellious and corruptible?
Would it be possible in any way at all
For it by God’s good grace to be sustained?
O yes, His Christ having come
To ransom us and to Himself us draw
By living faith, despite our foe,
The spirit shall live, by Christ alone sustained.
