[English translation below] Trois textes chantés. Le rondeau du Superius loue la Vierge de l'Immaculée Conception, ou Femme de l'Apocalypse, « revêtue du soleil » (« mulier amicta sole », comme indiqué dans la marge droite de son unique témoin, dans le chansonnier Dij), décrite dans le livre de l'Apocalypse comme « une femme revêtue du soleil, la lune sous ses pieds, et sur sa tête une couronne de douze étoiles » (12,1). Compte tenu de l'intérêt très particulier que la dynastie des Bourbons de Moulins porta au développement de ce nouveau culte après sa reconnaissance par le Concile de Bâle, et de l'attribution souvent proposée de cette chanson à Okeghem sur des bases philologiques et stylistiques, l'hypothèse qu'elle ait été composée lors de l'emploi d'Okeghem dans la chapelle ducale de Moulins entre 1447-1448 et son recrutement à la chapelle royale de France en 1451, et qu'il s'agisse donc de sa plus ancienne chanson connue (avec Ma maistresse) apparait comme extrêmement plausible.

Three sung texts. The rondeau of the Superius praises the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception, or Woman of the Apocalypse, "clothed with the sun" ("mulier amicta sole," as indicated in the right margin of its only witness, in the chansonnier Dij), described in the Book of Revelation as "a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars" (12:1). Given the particular interest that the Bourbon dynasty of Moulins took in the development of this new cult after its recognition by the Council of Basel, and the often-proposed attribution of this song to Okeghem on stylistic and philological grounds, the hypothesis that it was composed during Okeghem's employment in the ducal chapel of Moulins between 1447-1448 and his recruitment in the royal chapel of France in 1451, and that it is therefore his oldest known song (along with Ma maistresse), appears extremely plausible.
