[C I]-C1; [C II]-C1; [A]-C3; [T]-C4. Entire range, c-f’’. Two equal C voices, e’-f’’. No evidence of chant. A full-voice homophonic texture prevails until the final verse (“O dulcis…Maria”) whereupon imitation of rhythmic/melodic motives comprised of minums and semiminums intensifies the character of the antiphon. A syllabic style defines the text setting. Final d (1 & 3.p.), a (2 & 4.p.).

Salve, regina, mater misericordiae;

O clemens,

O pia,

O dulcis virgo Maria.
