[C]-G2; [A]-C2; [T I]-C3; [T II]-C3; [B]-C4. High clefs. Entire range, c-g’’. Tenor voices share same range, g-a’. “Salve” intonation (B). Chant (App. 4) serves as a cantus firmus in continuous semibreves (B) but also permeates the imitative texture concurrent with specific words (e.g., “regina,” mm. 1-4; “dulcedo,” mm. 17-24; “filii,” mm. 36-9; “illos,” mm. 67-73; and “fructum,” mm. 97-100). A full voice, polyphonic texture prevails. Rhythmic gestures primarily include minums, semiminums and fusae. A combination of syllabic and melismatic styles defines the text setting. At the completion of verse 9 (a triad on A, m. 133), there follows a four-measure coda constructed over a pedal point (d) with text “Maria.”
Final d, several b-flats are included in MS.
