C-C1; A-C2; T-C4. Chant (App. 4) permeates the imitative, contrapuntal texture that introduces both partes (mm. 1-15 and 59-62). Thereafter, large segments of the antiphon include chant as a migrating cantus firmus set apart in semibreves and breves. In 1.p. the cantus firmus is associated with “suspiramus” (A, mm. 40-3) and “in hac lacrimarum” (T, mm. 49-54). Cantus firmus treatment dominates 2.p. with verses structurally defined.
