Polyphonic ensemble STBX

[C]-C1; Ct-C3; T-C4; B-F4. “Regina celi” motto, relegated to C (mm. 1-5) and T (mm. 9-12), appears as breves and semibreves; three subsequent textual phrases and specific words (e.g., “letare,” “portare” and “sicut dixit”) are accompanied by respective chant (App. 3) within an imitative, contrapuntal texture. Paired imitation (C/Ct and T/B) introduces the first “alleluia.” The antiphon primarily reflects structure sustained through interlocking phrases. Declamatory style primarily defines text setting. Final F, b♭ signature. See RC266 for similar initial material (mm. 1-4).
