[S]-C1; [A]-C3; [T]-C4; [B]-F4. Regnart’s setting comprises four brief partes (13, 18, 20, and 19 measures, respectively), that rely upon chant (App. 3) to varying degrees. Although the “alleluia” sections are independent of chant, the following textual phrases manifest chant borrowings that permeate the imitative texture: “regina caeli,” “quia…meruisti,” “resurrexit…dixit” and “ora…Deum.” The second (“quia…”), third (“resurrexit…”) and final (“ora…”) textual phrases begin with invertible counterpoint. Declamatory text setting in syllabic style prevails. Final F, b♭ signature.
