C-C1; A-C3; T-C4; B-F4. A Spanish version of the chant,[1] relegated to the C primarily in semibreves and breves also permeates the imitative, contrapuntal texture particularly at the beginning of textual phrases. Guerrero clearly defines the textual phrases with chant quotations and cadential patterns. Declamatory text setting prevails. Final d.

1. Antiphonarium de sanctis (Saragossa, 1596), 331-32. The Spanish version in mode 1 bears little resemblance to the Roman version. That the melody may have remained relatively unchanged during the sixteenth century is validated by the Liber Processionarius (Seville, 1526) f. 23v reproduced in Freis, 453 and the Antiphonarium de sanctis (Saragossa, 1596) 239-40 in O’Connor, 80.
