[D]-G2; [S]-C1; [A]-C2; [T]-C4; [Q]-C3; [B]-F4. Initial pitches of chant (App. 3) introduce each of the four respective textual phrases. Paired imitation between A/Q and T/B supports chant associated with “regina caeli” assigned to D in breves and semibreves (mm. 1-5). Three imitative lower voices (A, B and T) articulate “quia meruisti” whereas the “resurrexit” motto hidden within the texture is coupled with a countersubject (mm. 30-6). Textual phrases are defined by full cadences that conclude textual phrases and the following “alleluia.” Various voice groupings suggest antiphonal treatment of “alleluia” sections. Rhythmic gestures primarily in breves and semibreves characterize “ora…Deum.” Declamatory text setting prevails. Final G.
