Scores

[1] Regina caeli

Polyphonic ensemble SATB

S-C1; A-C3; T-C4; B-F3. Chant (App. 3), frequently notated in breves and semibreves, permeates the imitative, contrapuntal texture; the chant melismas are abbreviated and chant influence is absent from the first “alleluia.” To emphasize the second and fourth “alleluia” segments, the respective conclusions of partes 1 and 2, Beauserron repeats each segment (mm. 30-37 equals mm. 37-44 and mm. 80-88 equals mm. 88-96). A combination of syllabic and melismatic styles defines the text setting. Final F, b♭ signature.

The Trope:

Alle Domine nate matris Deus alme nobis confer praestaque vivere:
Quam [quoniam] te decet laus honor O Domine qui de morte surgebas rex pie:
Fac nos tecum surgere, alleluia.
