D-C1; A-C3; T-C4; B-F4. No evidence of chant. The composer organizes the motet through a series of successive interlocking points of imitation. To emphasize specific textual phrases (e.g., “salve radix sancta,” “gaude virgo gloriosa” and “et pro nobis…”) a second or third imitative section expands upon the text. A declamatory setting of the Pre-Tridentine text includes syllabic style with melismas attached to penultimate syllables (“caelorum,” “angelorum,” “orta,” “gloriosa” and “decora”). Final F, b♭ signature.
