[S]-G2; [A]-C4; [T I]-C4; [T II]-C4; [B I]-F4; [B II]-F4. The two B parts share the range F-f and the A, T I and T II share the range f-g’ with frequent crossing of voices in the respective ranges. Within an imitative, contrapuntal texture the paraphrased chant (App. 2) most frequently resides in the S and T I but may also appear in other voices. The 1.p. opens with paired imitation between T II/S and B II/T I. New material presented in middle and lower voices is also subjected to imitation. Pre-Tridentine text presented in syllabic and melismatic styles. Both partes conclude with an octave pedal (f and f’) for four and one half and five mm., respectively. Final F, b♭ signature.
