Polyphonic ensemble SSAATTBB

Two equal choirs. C-G2; A-C2; T-C3; B-F3. High clefs. Entire range, G-a’’. No evidence of chant. Antiphony plays an incidental role with three quarters of the setting for tutti wherein the individual voices are integrated within the full texture; Chr. II is harmonically independent throughout; however, Chr. I is only independent when Chr. II is silent. One-fifth of the motet is devoted to the final phrase “peccatorum miserere.” A syllabic setting of the text prevails. Occasional use of octave leaps in individual voices and strong root movement throughout the setting. Final a.
