Description

Contains 18 works. These partbooks include a table of content on their last page (f. 16) and ascriptions in lower case above the beginning of the musical notation, and in capital letters as running titles of verso pages. The facing running titles of recto pages include the voice label in capital letters. An exception to this layout are the f. 11v-12, where the verso header has the voice label as running title and no running title on recto page.

Pattern of reeditions

Works

3 in database

  • Only chanson without ascription in this publication which otherwise includes ascriptions both in lower case above the beginning of the musical notation and in capital letters as running titles in the header of all verso pages (except on this f. 11v, which has the voice label as running title, and the f. 12, without running title). Moreover, the Superius partbook has the word 'trio' printed at the place where an ascription might appear, in the upper left corner above the start of the musical notation, for this chanson and the two following chansons by Bussi, which are also in the form of strophic airs, with musical notation on the verso and the remaining verses on the recto. The Tenor partbook has no such indications. Since no Altus nor Bassus partbook could be checked, it is not clear if these 3 chansons are really transmitted for 3 voices in this publication, but their concordances transmit them for 4 voices.
