Fut ce pas Dieu, qui d’un seul bruit esmut,
Tout un grand camp, et destruisit sans peine.
Et du selon qui devant David cheut,
Renversa bas, l’orgueil qui lui deplut.
C’est loi qui l’arrogance vaine
La folle langue et de blaspheme pleine,
De Rabsaces qui son non blasphema,
En pleine nuit d’un effroi consuma.

TRADUCTION
Was it not God, who with a single crash shook
A mighty host, and destroyed it effortlessly;
And that criminal who fell by David’s sling,
God overthrew his pride that so displeased Him.
God it is, who all the empty arrogance,
And maddened, blaspheming tongue
Of Rabsaces, that took His name in vain,
Consumed with terror in the deeps of night.
