Pars 4 scored for S I, S II, A I, & A II. “Salve” motto with varied number of breve rests between statements serves as a cantus firmus in first three partes (S II); “salve” motto is pitched on d’’ in pars 1 and alternates between g’’ and d’’ in 2.p. and 3.p. “Salve” motto introduces pars 1 (T, A II, S I] within an imitative, polyphonic texture. Text of A I in partes 1 and 2 and conclusion of pars 3 reads “mater misericordiae” (verse 1 of Salve regina) accompanied by melodic/rhythmic motive pitched on d’’ and e’’ in 1.p. and d’’, e’’ and g’’ in 2.p; following nine breves and a semibreve of silence, there follow five statements of the motive in 1.p. and four in 2.p., separated by rests of similar length. Final g, b♭ signature.
