[C]-G2; [A]-C2; [T]-C3; [B]-C4. High clefs. Entire range, c-g’’. Alternatim setting. Chant serves as a notated segmented canonic cantus firmus primarily in breves and semibreves: B at pitch and T a 5th higher. In 1.p., T functions as dux, whereas B serves that function in subsequent partes; the distance between dux and comes varies between 2 and 4 breves. Chant also permeates the upper voices within the imitative texture that characterizes the initial measures of partes 2 to 3. Within a layered texture the two lower voices support and markedly contrast with the two rhythmically active upper voices constructed primarily of minums and semiminums. Text underlay is of minimal concern. Final d (1.p., 2.p. & 3.p.), a (4.p.).

Although the antiphon carries no attribution, it could be credited to Ludwig Senfl, the composer of the previous Salve regina in MunBS 19 ff. 107v-119 (See SR235).
