S-G2; Sx-C1; A-C2; T-C3; Q-C3; B-C4. High clefs. No evidence of chant. To complement textual symmetry Asola created a symmetrical musical structure with verse 5, “Eya…converte” as the centerpiece: 1.p., 34 mm.; 2.p., 10 mm.; 3.p., 32 mm. Except for initial imitation between T and S (mm. 1-5), a homorhythmic style with independent voices dominates. Antiphonal effects associated with specific words or textual phrases (e.g., “vita dulcedo,” “et spes nostra, salve,” “ad te suspiramus,” “misericordes” and “ O dulcis virgo”) involve juxtaposition of upper and lower voices (e.g., S, Sx, T/A, T, Q, B) to contrast with the full choir. Declamatory style with syllabic text setting prevails. Final d.
