C-C1; A-C3; T-C4; B-F4. “Salve” intonation in C. Except for “regina” in C (mm. 1-3), chant is omitted from the antiphon. Textual phrases are characterized by contrasting motivic material, texture and mensuration. Imitation defines “exules filii Evae,” “lacrymarum valle” and “advocata nostra”; on the other hand, homorhythmic style distinguishes “illos misericordes” through the final phrase. Two textual phrases, “vita…salve” and “nobis…ostende” are scored for C, A and T, whereas the remainder of the antiphon is full voiced. Triple mensuration is reserved for the final phrase “O dulcis virgo Maria.” Cadential goals include A and D. Final d; b-flats, f-sharps and g sharps appear in the source.

Proske cites MS 4 in Biblioth. Collegii Romani. Most likely, the Biblioth. Collegii Romani has been acquired by and accommodated within Vatican City, Cappella Sistina; however, requests to verify the whereabouts of MS 4 have not been answered.
