Scores

[1] Regina celi

Polyphonic ensemble STB

[C]-C1; [T]-C4; [B]-F3. Chant (App. 3), presented in semibreves and breves permeates the imitative, contrapuntal texture, significantly influencing the structure of the antiphon. Textual sections are clearly defined by similar cadential patterns. Ostinato figures prepare cadences related to “quia…meruisti” (mm. 35-40) and the final “alleluia” (mm. 108-15): a repeated pattern in B for “quia…” and contrasting paterns in the respective voices (C, T, and B) for “alleluia.” A syllabic text setting initiates each textual phrase with minimum concern for text underlay thereafter. Final F, b♭ signature.

[2] Resurrexit

The Trope:

Alle Domine nate matris Deus alme nobis confer praestaque vivere:
Quam [quoniam] te decet laus honor O Domine qui de morte surgebas rex pie:
Fac nos tecum surgere, alleluia.
