Scores

Polyphonic ensemble SATTB

[S]-C1; [A]-C3; [T I]-C4; [T II]-C4; [B]-F4. No evidence of chant. In one of the more concise settings (26 mm.) of Regina caeli Viadana created a full-voice motet in homorhythmic style with a concurrent text in declamatory style. The first three “alleluia” sections, each composed of three measures in triple mensuration, contrast with the preceding textual phrases consisting of two or three measures in duple mensuration. The concluding “alleluia” (6 mm.) is defined by rhythmic syncopation that coincides with a descending sequential pattern of the full texture spanning the interval of a sixth. Final G.
