Tr-C1; T-C4; B-F3. Chant[1] in equal note values (semibreves) is placed in the T. Black square-shaped notes typical of chant notation appear in the manuscript; cadential passages are notated in mensural ligatures. Free of chant influence, the florid Tr and B function as equals proceeding in similar rhythmic gestures, usually in contrary motion but with occasional passages in parallel tenths (m. 7) and even briefly in parallel fifths (m. 4). Highly melismatic text setting characterizes Tr and B. Final F, b♭ signature in Tr and T, b♭ and e♭ in B.

1. Mowere most likely used a 15th-century Sarum source for the chant comparable to Richard Pynson, Processionale ad Usum Sarum 1502 (London, 1502), f. 168v. Reprint: (Clarabricken: Boethuis Press Limited, 1980). The Regina celi in this source contains but minor differences from LU 275. Mowere abbreviated the melisma for “letare” and avoids the second melisma for both “portare” and the final “alleluia.”
