[C]-C1; [Ct]-C3; [T]-C3. “Regina celi” intonation in C. An embellished chant occurs (App. 3) most prominently in C at the beginning of “letare,” “quia…portare,” “resurrexit sicut” and the final “alleluia.” Primarily within the same range (f-a’) and with frequent voice crossing, the T and Ct support a cantilena C, the principal texted voice (all voices texted for final “alleluia”) that reflects a highly melismatic text setting. Triple mensuration with fluid rhythmic gestures defines “letare…alleluia” and “quia…alleluia,” whereas the final two sections contrast with duple mensuration and a quasi-homorhythmic style. Final F, b♭ signature.
