Court chapel of René d'Anjou, 1472-1477
The employment of this singer in René d'Anjou's court chapel, for which no list survives in the 1460s and 1470s, is documented by his own will, drawn up on 19.4.1477 (Merkley 2017, p. 295-300, including full edition and translation of the last will after F-AD 13, 309 E 290, f. 359v and signaling another longer copy of the will in 309 E 247, f. 305).
Only one other archival mention has been uncovered to this day, which allows to suppose that he began serving the Anjou court chapel before 1472. On 5.2.1472, he had appointed procurators to collect the incomes of a canonicate in Toul, and a priory in the parish church of Peypin (Merkley 2017, p. 86, after F-AD 13, 303 E 28, f. 162v; P. Merkley reads "Podio Pino Enstannensis diocesis" but Podium Pinum is the latin name for Peypin, which, according to Clouzot & Prou 1923, p. 439 and passim, can refer in southern France either to Peypin, between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, in the diocese of Marseille, or, more probably, to Peypin d'Aigues, near the village of Pertuis, North from Aix, in the diocese of Aix or Sisteron [Fiala PCR]).
