Biography

Ascription of the opening song of the 6th book of the Parangon des chansons published in Lyons by Jacques Moderne in 1540 (Pogue 1960, p. 161; RISM 1540/16). The song is a setting of Clément Marot's French version of psalm 137, Super flumina babilonis.

The only known musician in that period designated with the name Abel (either as first or last name) is Abel Patuges*, who might be the composer of this work.
