Biography

Early (and, possibly, original) owner of manuscript S-Uu Vokalmusik i Handskrift 76b, which contains masses, motets and chansons whose composition is datable in the 1500s or early 1510s.

On the inside front cover of the manuscript is written the autograph ex-libris:
"T. Gillesson presbiter trecensis diocesis
Est verus possessor istius volumis
<sign.> Gillesson"

On the inside back cover of the book is written, in large letters :
"Thomas Gilleton"
and, in an other hand :
"Guillaume Gruel de pago Chaum"

The manuscript was then transfered to Paris, where it was used by the famous lutenist Guillaume Morlaye (see Morlaye OL, II, Manuscrits d'Uppsala, p. xvii).
