Biography

Church of Our Lady in Bruges, 1485-1500 (but not 1516)
A. Dewitte lists "Jaspar de Atro" as a singer in 1500 but adds in his alphabetical appendix of singers two entries for: "Jaspar Atro" residing in Rome in 1500, and still a singer in 1516, acting as prepositus sociorum musice (Dewitte 1970, p. 114, 124). Since it has been demonstrated that the first entry refers to a singer named "Her Jaspaert van den Kerchove"* who died in 1500 (see his biography), the second one is the only known trace of existence of another later singer named "Jaspar Atro" (but perhaps more convincingly "de Atrio").
