Biography

Thomas Crecquillon (c.1505 to c. 1557), served as choirmaster to Emperor Charles V during the 1540's [Membre de la chapelle de Charles Quint de 1538 à 1555 (maître de chapelle jusqu'en 1545, puis chantre et chapelain)], and was also associated with churches in Antwerp, Namur, and Therouanne. The bulk of his over 200 chansons were issued by the Antwerp music printer Tielman Susato in Antwerp.
